Support for Anna Hazare in Sikkim is rising day by day

Correspondent/Sikkim/ RANGPO – Support for Anna Hazare in Sikkim is rising day by day. After Gangtok, Ranipool, Singtam and Rhenock yesterday, a big candle light rally was organised here, the main entry point of Sikkim.
Staff and officers from the industrial sectors of the area, teenagers , youth and school students along with businessmen participated in the rally.
More than 400 people rallied in support of Anna with placards showing support to Anna and a strong Janlok Pal Bill. The rally started from Rangpo Upper Bazaar and covered Mandi bazaar and IBM.
PTI adds: A farmer in Sikkim is on a fast for the last three days without even taking water to express support to Anna Hazare’s fast for a strong Lokpal.
Yong Tshering Lepcha, a farmer from Nimtar in East Sikkim started his fast near the Paljor stadium fish pond on Saturday.
“I would not take any water also for the first three days of my fast. After three days I would take water but plan to fast as long as Anna observes,” the 42-year old farmer said.
“Being a progressive farmer, I want to appeal to all people in the State to support Anna Hazare in whatever capacity they can,” he said, while also welcoming expressions of support for his initiative as well.
Meanwhile, Janswayam Sewa Sangathan (People’s Volunteer Cell) announced plans to take out a rally from the Deorali Ropeway Complex to Zero Point tomorrow in support of Anna Hazare and his cause here in Gangtok.
Another rally will be organised on August 24 by Nagrik Adhikar Suraksha Sangathan Sikkim to support Anna Hazare and also to protest the now withdrawn Public Order Bill.
