Dooars : Elephant found dead at Nanda Khola near Sevoke Railway station

Siliguri, Dec 13 : An adult female elephant was found dead with multiple bruises on its body at Nanda Khola near Sevoke Railway station in Dooars today.

Darjeeling Range Forest Officer Siddharatha Roy said the pachyderm was found dead with marks of wounds on her body.

He said the jumbo was probably pregnant and died of injuries after fighting with a tusker.

Medics rushed to the spot for an autopsy to determine the cause of fatality. (UNI)
