The 48th junior National football championship for the Dr. B.C. Roy Trophy (under-19) will be played at two venues, Siliguri (West Bengal) and Cuttack. Siliguri will host the Tier 1 matches comprising the top 16 teams, as per last year's standings, from January 18.
Cuttack will be the venue for Tier 2 on January 19, consisting of teams which failed to make it to the pre-quarterfinals at the previous championship held at Kolkata. Both legs will conclude on January 29.
The 16 teams have been divided into four groups of four teams each in Tier 1. The four group champions will play another single round league and the top team will take the trophy.
Last year's champion Chandigarh heads Group A which has Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh and Tamil Nadu. Losing finalist Bengal leads Group B which has Punjab, Meghalaya and Maharashtra. Last year's semifinalist Uttarakhand will head Group C along with Odisha, Goa and Mizoram. The other semifinalist Karnataka will be on top of Group D along with Assam, Manipur and Delhi.
