Police commissionerate should be at Darjeeling - DDCC

Mukesh Sharma: The Darjeeling District Congress Committee (DDCC) today submitted a memorandum to the Kalimpong Police Station In Charge Prashad Pradhan opposing the establishment of the police commissionerate at Siliguri. In a press release issued by the Committee states that the Kalimpong Congress Committee strongly opposes the formation of Siliguri Police commissionerate. To keep Darjeeling District intact and united, the Committee has  strongly demand the formation of the Darjeeling Police commissionerate instead of Siliguri Police commissionerate with the headquarter at Darjeeling comprising Siliguri Sub Division, Darjeeling Sub Division and Kalimpong Sub Division excluding Bhaktinagar Police Station.The party has also strongly protested against the recent arrest of Dilip Nath, District Congress President at Hoogly and other Congress leader on false charges. The police have acted in a most partial and arbitrary manner stated the release.
