Five class-9 students of Mungsung High School were admitted to Mungsung hospital on Monday night after their health got worsen consuming pink tablets. The then admitted students were referred to Kalimpong District hospital when their condition started deteriorating.Informing about the same the Kalimpong hospital SDMO said that he informed the police about the case. The police after interrogation with the students found that, a person named Peden Bhutia (28) who is said to run her own medical shop at Sikkim had given 5 pink tablets to the students. The students after having the tablets fell sick. On the other hand accused Peden Bhutia herself reached Kalimpong police station today and slammed the allegation labeled against her by the students.Bhutia said that she was innocent and the occurrence happened when one of the students had taken away the tablets from her house without her permission. The said medicine was taken by her father when suffered insomnia, she added. Thought there has been no written complaints from the students’ families, the episode has been all talked around which hospitalized the teenagers. It is also informed that the students now are out of danger.
