33 year old murdered in Kalimpong Block II

A murder case has been reported from Akin Busty of Pakang under Gitabling Gram Panchayat, Kalimpong Block II. As per the incident, 33 year old, Ledup Lepcha received a call from his neighbour, Ripden Lepcha at 11 pm on Saturday. Ledup after informing his family members went to meet Ripden but did not return afterwards. Tensed by the late return of Ledup, his aged father went to Ripden’s house where he found his son lying on a pool of blood. The father started screaming which further awakened the neighborhood. The family members along with the neighbours hurried Ledup to the Kalimpong Sub Divisional hospital. Since his condition was critical, he was referred to a hospital in Siliguri. But on the way to Siliguri, Ledup succumbed to his injuries. The body after postmortem at North Bengal Medical College, Siliguri was brought back to Kalimpong today.The accused after murdering the deceased fled with his wife and children. The reason for murder is yet unknown, said the Kalimpong Thana In-charge, Prasad Pradhan. Curfews at various places have been laid and the search for the accused is at full swing, he added.
