Kalimpong|Mukesh Sharma: The West Bengal state chief minister, Mamata Banerjee during her North Bengal tour recently had stated that she shall not tolerate plaintiff movements in the state. The Gorkhaland Task Force (GTF) Coordinator, R Moktan today opposing the statement said that it is not the statement of a CM but is of a particular Bengali individual. “The GTF immediately objects the CM’s statement”, said Moktan.Further, speaking about Gorkhaland, he said that the Gorkhas abiding the constitutional rights are demanding for a separate state. “To see our movement as plaintiff is misconception of the CM”, said Moktan.Saying that the proposed Gorkhaland area was never under Bengal Moktan believed that the CM saying Bengal will not get divided is irrational.“Bengal does not own Darjeeling. They are just temporary guardians”, told the GTF Coordinator and recommended the leaders of Bengal and other intellectuals to comment after studying the historical documents and facts related to it.The Cm had delivered the statement on Friday during a governmental programme at Nagarhatta, Dooars. The political experts say that the CM by delivering such statement intends to put across the state’s thoughts to those who demand Greater Coochbehar and Gorkhaland. The progress over the Telengana demand has also sparked the GTF. Moktan said that improvement in the Telegana formation has motivated the GTF.The GTF has decided to meet the CMs of different states of Central and South India in February 2013 and highlight the Gorkhaland issue to them.
