The Gorkhaland Territorial Administration (GTA) Tourism Department in charge Dawa Lepcha today informed of meeting with the state tourism secretary on various tourism projects in the Hills at the Circuit House , Darjeeling. Lepcha said that secretary Sen hinted of opening an institute of hotel management in the Hills. Sen has also directed to get hold of 5 acres of land for the institute and to submit the project reports by March 31 next year. Lepcha on the part has appealed the public of being in touch with the concerned department if they wanted to sell their lands. The representatives of the hotel and restaurant association also met with the secretary and held discussion on different issues said Lepcha. The representative of the organization Sajogita Lepcha informed that they submitted a memorandum demanding for the construction of tourism spots at Kalimpong. The representatives also informed about the old tourism spots and the drinking water problems in Kalimpong town. Sen assured to talk with the minister for PHE for the recurrent water problems of Kalimpong. Similarly, they also appealed the secretary to make changes in the tourism broachers published by the state and to add the beautiful spots of Kalimpong. The representative also briefed him about the problems being faced by the hotels in the town.
