Tea & Tourism festival at Kalimpong to start from Jan 2 to 4

A colorful tea and tourism festival will be organized at Kalimpong on New Year 2013 for the tourists. The festival will kick start from January 2 to 4 which will have vivid display. To lure the tourists this time the organizers has planned to organized helicopter joy ride, para-gliding, bullock-cart ride, dog and baby show, cultural and traditional shows and many more. The festival will be extensive this time assured the organizers.The GTA tourism department in charge Dawa Lepcha informed that the festival apart from the Mela ground and Main Road, it will be organized at different places. The organizing committee president Sanjay Das said that the fest will kick start from Town hall on January 2. The traditional programme at Thana Dara, Main Road and at Mela ground will be held in the evening he added.Likewise on January 3, Dog and Baby show, street rally, bike stunts, vintage car rally, traditional fashion show will be organized. On the last day, various sports activities, band display by different bands etc will be organized at Mela ground. The aim of the festival is to project kalimg in the World tourism map said Das.
