The annual meeting of the Janmukti Himalayan Highway Driver Association was held today under the chairmanship of president Ashok Thapa, at the Association office at Teesta. The Association general secretary Daluram Sharma placed the annual report before the meeting. President Thapa highlighted the issues and problems of the drivers and the accidents that have been taking place at the NH31A. The drivers have a crucial role to play in making the accident free day he added. The meeting also discussed the long hour jams that occur along the Highway and the solution for the same. He urged the drivers to be responsible and not to drink while driving. He appealed them, to be always alert and not to stop wherever in the Highway without any need. The meeting also stressed on the deteriorating road condition due to the coming of the heavy vehicles and planned to submit a memorandum to the concerned authority. At last they discussed on the identity cards to be provided to all the drivers in the coming New Year 2013.
