Amra Bangali rallies demanding Gurung’s arrest

Supporters of local outfit Amra Bangali today conducted a rally demanding the arrest of Gorkha Janamukti Morcha chief Bimal Gurung and the cancellation of the GTA deal terming it unconstitutional.
Speaking at the Siliguri Journalists’ Club, Amra Bangali secretary Basudev Saha said a separate statehood should not be granted at any cost. He said the party would organise bigger rallies in Siliguri demanding the cancellation of the GTA and the arrest of Gurung.
Saha further threatened to intensify protests if the outfit’s demands are not met, adding the state government would be held responsible for any untoward incident. He also said the Congress and CPM are trying to leverage the current situation for selfish gains.(EOI)
