He said when the centre is showing some
concern toward the statehood movement here, opposing parties should
support it proactively instead of just making comments.
Addressing GJM supporters after a rally
in Mirik today, Rai said, “The Hill Trinamool Congress should stop its
double-edged policy. If the leaders do not oppose the Gorhaland demand,
they should leave the TMC and join the movement and not sell their
self-esteem.”
Further, he slammed the state government
for continuing to retain the CRPF in the hills when the centre is
stirring towards the statehood demand being raised.
The GJM leader also called on Peoples’
Forum secretary Prabin Gurung to support the movement instead of making
statements and claims at this crucial juncture.(EOI)
