Baichung to be part of FIFPro technical committee

Indian football icon, Bhaichung Bhutia, has been selected to serve on the technical committee of FIFPro, the world body for players.
He will be serving for a term of four years starting 11 November 2013. Bhutia is the only representative from Asia on the six-man committee that consists of three representatives from Europe, and one each from Africa and South America.
Bhaichung is also the president of the Football Players Association of India (FPAI), and the chairman of the technical committee of the All India Football Federation. Mr Jahan Mehta, FPAI said: “It is a boost for Indian Football and is a culmination of the work, dedication and contribution of Bhutia, over so many years.”
FIFPro, is the worldwide representative organisation for professional football players. FIFPro, with its headquarters in Netherlands is made up of all the players associations from all countries of the world with a mission to supports players and is the exclusive collective international voice of the world’s professional footballers. Players like Xavi, Puyol, Casillas, Drogba, Owen, Beckham, Kewell and Nakata, are just a few, among many, who support their respective country's players union.(SNS)
