Siliguri, 4 February: Bhomley and Mike inspired Share Football Club, Kalimpong, to a 5-1
demolition of Sukna United, Sukna in the 9th Sukuna Gold Cup Football
Tournament at the Sukna High School Ground in Sukna near Siliguri on
Tuesday, although the sorry performance of the Sukna boys had as much to
do with the scoreline as the volatile Kalimpong outfit’s brilliance.
Share asserted itself right from the start with a goal in just the third minute by Mike. Nine minutes later, Bhomley increased the tally. Thereafter, the Kalimpong team totally dominated the proceedings and Mike struck again in the 24th minute.
The Share forwards then kept the United defenders in a state of confusion. Share had the lion’s share of exchanges and looked far more assured and showed greater imagination than United. However, Dina Subba reduced the margin in the 31st minute against the run of play.
Stung by the goal, Share wasted no time increasing their lead, and just four minutes later, Bhomley found the bottom-right corner from 25 yards. Bhomley hammered the final nail on the United coffin in the 61st minute. He was declared Man of the Match.
Mechi Football Academy, Nepal, will take on Sinolchu, Namchi tomorrow. The kick-off is at 3 p.m.(SNS)
