The Darjeeling district CPM has strongly
objected to the inclusion of Sevoke Bazar under Gorkhaland Territorial
Administration (GTA).
The CPM supporters under the leadership
of party leader and the panchayat member Sunita Lama today took out a
rally at Sevoke Bazar against the inclusion of the area under GTA.
CPM leader Saman Pathak said that Sevoke
Bazar was earlier under Champasari Gram Panchayat. However, under the
government’s notification the area has now been put under GTA
jurisdiction.
He said that the local people are not
ready to accept the government order and are protesting and demanding
for the area to be kept under Champasari Gram Panchayat.(EOIC)
