FIR against Pawan Chamling’s son
Gangtok, 7 April: Alleging that the chief minister’s son keeps bribing the voters, the Opposition Sikkim Krantikari Morcha has filed an FIR against Bijay Chamling at Pakyong police station on Sunday.
“An FIR has been lodged by SKM  at Pakyong police station” informed superintendent of police, East, Manoj Tewari.“Kamal Adhikari of Sikkim Krantikari Morcha has lodged an FIR at Pakyong police station, alleging Mr Chamling is distributing money among the villagers to buy their votes,”he added. A case under Section 171 (E) of IPC has been registered against Bijay Chamling for bribing the voters. SKM has further alleged that Mr Chamling, boarding a white Bolero bearing SK.O2 P 1060, was seen and caught too in action on camera distributing Rs 50,000 to coerce the villagers to work for SDF  for the upcoming election. However, police sources said the allegation was found bereft of substance after the vehicle was searched in the presence of a magistrate. "No money was found inside the car during the search," a police officer said. Another police source said a few people had come with cash to the police station, claiming they had been given the money by Bijay Chamling. Police sources further added the complaint has been forwarded to District Election Officer which has been forwarded to Chief Electoral Officer.(SNS)
