Nepal Election Commission team to arrive today as international polls visitors

Kolkata, 28 April: A 14-member delegation from the Election Commission of Nepal is arriving here tomorrow as international visitors to oversee the polls in Howrah district.             
The team is headed by Ms Ila Sharma, an Election Commissioner in Nepal; the remaining members include officials right from Chief Returning Officers to Section Officer. Five representatives of the United Nations Development Programme will accompany them. 
According to the West Bengal Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Mr Sunil Kumar Gupta, on their arrival at Kolkata airport tomorrow, the Nepal delegation will visit the election material Distribution Centres (DC) in Howrah around noon. Howrah has two DC's located at the Domurjola Stadium for Howrah seat and at the Calcutta Institute of Pharmaceutical Technology (CIPT) for Uluberia.
The team will pay a visit to the CEO office and meet the officials at 6.30 p.m. to understand the nitty-gritty of elections here.
“On the day of poll, that is on 30 April, they will get divided into three-four teams and visit several polling stations in Howrah and Uluberia to witness the actual voting process. Our officials will accompany them as liaison,” Mr Gupta said. The team will stay near Ruby Hospital.(SNS)
