Rajen Mukhia’s reply on Mamata-Bimal meeting criticism

The main purpose of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s latest visit to Darjeeling was for promoting the comprehensive development of the hills through the Gorkhaland Territorial Administration and not for any political gain, claims hill TMC president Rajen Mukhia.
In an exclusive interview today, he said the GTA has been created by the state government and is hence equally responsible for its smooth running.
However, some quarters have criticised the meeting between the chief minister and GJM chief Bimal Gurung without any valid reason, remarked Mukhia, adding it had been fixed in advance.
The hill TMC leader further said once the region benefits from the promised ‘development’, the youth need not go elsewhere in search of jobs. A large contingent of hill TMC workers and supporters will participate in the Dharamtala rally on July 21, concluded Mukhia. (HS)
