The state Higher Secondary (HS)
Examination is slated to commence from Monday and will continue till 29
February. Around 16 lakh candidates will be appearing for the
examination this year in 47 subjects from 649 centres across the state.
Like in the Madhyamik examination, female candidates across the 16
districts in the HS exam outnumber their male counterparts by 15,000.
The Council of Higher Secondary Education has arranged for stricter invigilation after reports of rampant cheating in the Madhyamik examination surfaced. No one will be allowed with mobile phones inside the examination centres. Teachers and invigilators are also not allowed to carry mobile phones within the venue,the authorities of the council said. The examination venue supervisors will be given identity cards.
The control room and help desk have been made operational, where candidates can directly contact the authorities in case any untoward incident occurs. They can seek information regarding the examination by calling up the toll free number - 18001039341.(sns)
