Lopsang Lama new president of GJM announced by Bimal Gurung

Darjeeling, Oct 5 (UNI): Lopsang Lama (Yolmo) of Kalimpong district has become the new acting president of the Gorkha Janmukti Morcha(GJM) with immediate effect, according to a communiqué issued ny GJM president Bimal  Gurung, who is evading arrest, from his undisclosed station.

“After consulation with the senior most leaders of our party you are hereby appointed as the working president of Gorkha Janmukti Morcha with immediate effect till further intimation. This decision has been taken in the best interest of our party and to cater to party activities which you will carry on in consulation  with the senior members of our party “ said Mr Gurung in a statement on October 4/

Mr Gurung, who is evading several arrest warrants since June last year, was not seen in the public though time and again he has been issuing media release of party and Darjeeling’s political and social issues.
Meanwhile, a meeting between the leaders of GJM and the Union Home Secretary and other officials of Home Affairs has been fixed for October 5 (Friday) at 3 pm at North Block, New Delhi, to discuss all related issues, according to Col (Rtd) Ramesh Alley, Central Committee Member, GJM.
