The Ohio-bred Rebekah Jean will perform with special guests at The Darjeeling Cafe, Friday, January 13th. The Darjeeling Cafe will one of many stops on Rebekah Jeans 2012 tour, promoting the release her debut independent album, Love May Be Real but it Aint Enough.

Staunton Americana fans don't want to pass up experiencing this up-and-comer who is getting the attention of some who are among the heartbeat of the burgeoning roots revival. Rebekahs album was produced by Grammy-nominated producer David Mayfield and tracked in the Akron, Ohio studio of Bob Cesare, also the drummer on the entire album. Cesares resume includes drumming and assistant engineering for Black Keys frontman Dan Auerbachs solo outing Keep it Hid. Much to everyones listening pleasure, fellow Northeast Ohio songwriter Jessica Lea Mayfield also lends her voice to the album, with hair-raising harmony on the pounding burnout waltz, Big Green Shelter. These contributions combined with Rebekah Jean's own sounds and original songwriting firmly plant Love May Be Real but it Aint Enough into Americana Folk-Rock soil.

The Ohioan's music reflects her conflicting influences growing up, with roots planted deep in the hills of West Virginia coal country, and raised close enough to her father's Cleveland to hear the screams of rock-n-roll. Rebekah's songwriting carries on the tradition of honest clarity and heartfelt sincerity both rock-n-roll and early country first presented. Her lyrics draw you in, but it's her voice that will get your attention.
