Thirty-five Adavasis of the western parts of the Dooars today joined the Gorkhaland Rajya Nirman Morcha. The GRNM President Dawa Pakhrin welcomed them handing over the party flag. Pakhrin talking to the reporters said that the Chief Minister of the State who wil be demarcating new districts in the State must also segregate Kalimpong and Kurseong as a district. The party earlier also had submitted a memorandum to the State government on the same he added. ‘We are not opposing any developments in the Hills, but we are demanding the inclusion of the left out povinces during the formation of the GTA’ said Pakhrin. There are places in Kalimpong and Kurseong where people take a day to reach the town and if the two were districts, the story could have been otherwise.Pakhrin also said that soon they will kick start with the public awareness programmes. He also criticized the transfer of the adhoc workers under the various departments in the GTA and said that they too had huge contribution during the agitation.
