SDMO of Kalimpong Sub division hospital Dr SR Pradhan passed away

The SDMO of Kalimpong Sub division hospital Dr SR Pradhan passed away yesterday late night following a heart attack. Born in 3rd June 1959, Late Dr Pradhan was the second son of PR Pradhan and Sanu Kumari Pradhan. He did his schooling from the SUMI. In 1980 he joined the Samilani Medical College, Bankura for his MBBS degree. From 1987 till 1991 he served as a Health Officer at Rangpo, Yangang and Ravangla under the Sikkim Health Services. In 1992 he also served as a doctor at the Kalimpong Sub division hospital and further in 2002 he took the post of SDMO.Late Dr Pradhan contributed and worked towards the awareness and prevention of HIV AIDS in Kalimpong and worked for the overall betterment of the hills as a social worker. His friends remember him as a singer and a musician. He has left behind his parents, wife Nermati Pradhan, elder brother NR Pradhan, younger brother BR Pradhan, daughter Prerna Pradhan, son Anmol Ratan Pradhan and a sister.
