In a press release on behalf of Delhi GJMM, its General Secretary Ranjan Sharma stated that a team led by Asha Gurung, President of Naari Morcha, Central Committee along with the team of GJMM Delhi and Vidhyarthi Morcha approached the office of Rahul Gandhi, VP, Congress party at New Delhi today.
He also informed that they have forwarded a Memorandum demanding statehood along with copies of "Why not Gorkhaland” and "Why Gorkhaland". The concerned Official has assured that he would talk to Rahul Gandhi and assist in raising the issue of Gorkhaland amongst the senior members of the Congress party and treat the Gorkhaland demand issue with equal importance with Telangana. We are likely to get an appointment with Rahul Gandhi within a day or two.Dharna at Jantar Mantar, New Delhi continues, today being the 46th Day under the leadership of Asha Gurung, President Naari Morcha. GJM members of Naari Morcha Central Committee, members of Vidyarthi Morcha, Delhi GJM unit, Haryana GJM and other supporters of Gorkhaland were also present today.Representatives of Vidhyarthi Morcha are playing an active and pivotal role in the ongoing campaign at Jantar Mantar. Dharna at Jantar Mantar is likely to continue till we receive a positive response from the State or Central Government. However, the representatives of Home Ministry, CBI, Intelligence Bureau (IB), Press Information Bureau (PIB) have been keeping a close watch on the movement and taking regular reports to their senior officers on a daily basis.
GTF representatives meet Goa CM
Gorkhaland Task Force (GTF) representatives after having met with the CMs of Gujarat and Maharashtra met with the CM of Goa, Manohar Parekar. Sukman Moktan GTF national president and R Moktan, GTF national coordinator highlighted the importance of Gorkhaland formation to Parekar. They also informed in detail about hoe the GTF representatives are meeting with CMs of different stated and various leaders seeking support for the Gorkhaland demand.
