Despite the GNLF’s efforts at bringing
party chief Subash Ghising back to the hills, things have not gone its
way so far. Ghising has given out an impression of remaining detached
from the political scenario of the Darjeeling hills, but his loyal
supporters’ yearning for his physical presence amidst them has not
waned. However, the spirited efforts of his cadres seem to have paid off
finally, at least to some extent.
It is learnt that the GNLF supremo has
started interacting with his supporters by mingling with them and posing
for photographs at his residence in Matigara. The photos have been
posted on social networking site Facebook as evidence. This gesture has
added vigour among party workers, who have begun “feeling” his presence
among them, say sources.
Age-related health problems may be
keeping Ghisingh from climbing up the hills, but now that he is in touch
with party cadres and appears relatively in good health, a new sense of
enthusiasm is getting injected among the GNLF rank and file.(EOIC)
