FIR lodged against GTA Sabhashad Arun Ghising

An FIR has been lodged against GTA Sabhashad Arun Ghising alleging him of threatening and forcefully trying to take in a GNLF member in the party. Murmah TG resident Manbahadur Limbu, who is an employee at Mirik cultural department, lodged a police complaint stating Sabhashad Arun Ghising, GJM Namsu unit president Asman Rai and secretary Dhanprasad Limbu had on April 8, forcefully taken him to GJM party office where he was allegedly forced to accept the Morcha flag. Manbahadur said the trio pressurized him to accept the flag under the threats that his house will be set on fire and he would be transferred to Jamune.

Apprehensive about his security, Manbahadur brought the matter before police and demanded the accused should be dealt with stringently. GNLF leaders Ladup Ghisihng and Arjun Rai slammed Sabhashad Ghising saying, “Being a public representative it is immoral to threaten a common man.” Accusing Ghising of violating people’s rights, the GNLF leaders warned same should not be repeated. Meanwhile, Mirik block committee of hill TMC has also lodged a police complaint against Arun Ghising alleging the GJM supporters have stripped the TMC posters under Ghising’s direction.(EOIC)
