Kalimpong, Mukesh Sharma: Darjeeling Sikkim Ekikaran Manch , spearheading a movement for unification of the Darjeeling Hills in West Bengal with Sikkim today appealed to general public of Darjeeling to observe 30th April as 'Black Day'. Today while speaking to press at Kalimpong Dr Gokul Sinha ,President of the Manch inform about the objective of 30th April. He informed 'Darjeeling was not in Bengal on the day of independence . neither on the day when constitution was drafted. We came with our land and the land was of Sikkim'. This truth has not been placed properly to the public and now we will constitutionally with the help of law will lead our agenda added Sinha.

Meanwhile Manch General Secretary Shankarhang Subba today said that Darjeeling area was without the consent of local people was absorb to Bengal on 30th April 1954. 'The Indian Government did injustice to us , no consent was taken the mistake done in that time is costing now'. He said 30Th April has been a eclipse for us. Manch has appealed to public to put Black flag at their home. Driver to put black flag on their vehicle as mark of protest and to student teachers. workers to tie black armband at arm .
