Mukesh Sharma: Jan Andolan Party (JAP) which has turned its focus demanding Panchayat Election in Darjeeling Hills today submitted memorandum in 112 Gram Panchayat of GTA area. Party Secretary Nayan Pradhan informing about the program said today we submitted Memorandum to 112 Gram Panchayat demanding holding of Panchayat Election in GTA region .
"Panchayat areas covered in GTA region is more than that of Municipality area.
The lack of panchayats has affected many areas, especially the rural sector where overall development and benefits through panchayat system are yet to reach" said Nayan Pradhan
We have seen the problem of the masses and accordingly we have started the program of which the first phase was today concluded by Submitting the memorandum to Gram Panchayat all over the GTA region.
We will continue to give memorandum in 8 blocks on 28th April and to Darjeeling District Magistrate on 3rd May informed Pradhan.
He took attack GJM without naming the party who have alleged that the JAP have neither the Status nor the people mandate to raise the issue. He said they had the mandate but what did they do. When we raise any issue they follows us.
Being a new born political party our responsibility is to raise mass aspiration and that what we have started doing.We have call for a all party meet to discuss the program on 29th April .
Meanwhile Bureau members Yusuf Simick Whose work was to hold Panchayat Election according to GTA agreement now are searching for our status.JAP will continuously raised the masses voice.
