Since his childhood, he was passionate about machines. When he talked of
designing equipment, his parents never thought that what their son
desired to do would come true one day.
Nirupam Sharma (23) from Okayti Tea Estate has tasted success after getting a degree from the prestigious National Institute of Technology. He has been selected to work with the Indian Space Research organisation (ISRO) - the country's premier institution on space technology. Nirupam secured 88 per cent at the national level examination held a few months ago.
Son of Bishwakavi and Bishnukala Sharma, Nirupam comes from a middle-class family. He faced tough competition but he has proved equal to his peers. Nirupam started his schooling at Little Flower English School, passed secondary level from Lewis English School and completed his higher secondary from Vidya Vikash Academy in Darjeeling. He then studied B.Tech at Surendra Institute of Engineering and Management in Siliguri and M.Tech at NIT, Silchar.(EOI)
