WB govt to solve Educational Problems in the Darjeeling Hills

Mukesh Sharma Kalimpong, January 13: An important meeting was held today at Kolkata to sort out the long unsettled education related problems in the hills in presence of the state education minister Bratya Basu , SSC chairman Chitranjan Dutta ,Directorate of school education and the deputy secretary department of education, MLA Kalimpong Dr Harka Bahadur Chettri and MLA Kurseong Rohit Sharma , representative of the teachers organisation Bijay Pradhan the general secretary of JTSO and the coordinator of the education monitoring cell Tshering Tamang .Informing over the phone about the meeting Bijay Pradhan said that the meeting was very positive and the main point of issue in the meeting was the regularise the adhoc teachers, Pradhan said that the process of regularisation of adhoc teacher has started from today itself and hoped that the problem gets resolved within a span of three months. Further He said that the state government is keen to solve all the problems relating to the educational sphere. The point of the CFP and PPF of hill teachers was also a point of issue in today’s meeting the representative of hills got in their hand the papers of up gradation of 6 junior basic schools to high schools said Pradhan.Education monitoring cell coordinator Tshering Tamang informed that the student who has long ago passed PSC and SSC examination would also be adjusted as a
teacher. He has requested all such candidate to contact the organisation and the department immediately. The process, Tamang said, will be taken up further at another round of meeting to be held in Kolkata on January 20.
