A book based on Indian Nepali lyricists
in the Nepali language “Bharatiya Nepali Geetkar Parichayik Charcha”
written by famous academician and literary figure Dr. Jas Yonjon “Pyasi”
and published by Lasha Prakashan, Kurseong was released today at Gorkha
Jan Pustakalay in Kurseong on the occasion of 163rd birth anniversary
of Padri Gangaprasad Pradhan.
It was learnt the book contains the works of various Indian Nepali lyricists with explanations.
Several prominent and senior literary
figures participated in the book release along with distinguished
members of the pustakalaya, song writers, singers, musicians and others.
The book titled “Bharatiya Nepali
Geetkar Parichayik Charcha” on Indian Nepali lyricists, who have
composed various lyrics in the Nepali language, has been written lucidly
by Dr. Yonzon who himself needs no introduction in the field of Nepali
Literature. Dr. Yonjon is considered a renowned academician and highly
respectable literary figure in Nepali society.
Notably, Padri Gangaprasad Pradhan was
the first person in the Indian Nepali society to have started a nepali
language magazine publication called “Gorkhay Khabarkagaj”. His
contribution towards the upliftment of the Gorkha community and its
language is considered invaluable.(EOIC)
