Reliance launches 3G service in Siliguri and 15 locations in the West Bengal circle.

Siliguri 20 April : Reliance communication became the first private operator to launch 3G services at 15 locations in the West Bengal circle.
In the first phase, the service would be available in Siliguri, Asansol, Barakar, Behrampur, Burdwan, Durgapur, English Bazar, Haldia, Jangipur, Kharagpur, Nabadwip, Ranaghat and Raniganj, the head of the eastern region hub of Reliance, Khurshed Ahmed, said.
It would offer the widest bouquet of "cutting edge" services including video-calling, mobile tv, video streaming and applications accessed at superfast speeds ubiquitously on a variety of mobile and personal computing devices, Ahmed said.
The launch of Reliance 3G was an integral part of Reliance's vision 2015 of creating a 'wirefree India' built on an 'affordable 3G for all' platform, he said.
The company was targeting a national footprint of Reliance 3g services through associations with other like minded, quality 3G licencees in the remaining nine telecom circles during the course of the current fiscal 2011-2012, Ahmed said.
