Kalimpong, Sept. 9: The teaching and non-teaching staff members of Cluny Women’s College, who observed a “cease work” yesterday to protest the delay in the payment of salary for August, resumed work today.
The agitation was withdrawn after the governing body sought three days’ time to solve the problem.
The staff of the college have not been paid because a governing body member, who is authorised to sign the pay cheques, and college principal Ram Bahadur Bhujel have been absent for almost a month.
The college has 18 teaching and six non-teaching staff members.
Of them seven teachers and five non-teaching staff are permanent employees.
The institution has about 370 students.
