Dimapur Gorkha Union resolution to Dmu DC

Dimapur Gorkha Union (DGU) in its central executive council meeting on October 15 at Nepali Basti, resolved to take up important issues in the larger interest of the public of Dimapur town.

DGU in a letter addressed to DC Dimapur Hushili Sema highlighting its resolution resolved that, prior permission/approval should be taken from the apex body i.e Dimapur Gorkha Union for formation of any new organization/society/union/samithi/club/forum/association etc., which reflected the name Gorkha/Nepali within the jurisdiction of DGU i.e Dimapur district.

Chairman of Dimapur Gorkha Union Kumar Subba stated that due to rampant collection of money from the public/business establishment by various Gorkha organization(s), Dimapur Gorkha Union resolved to impose blanket ban on any kind of monetary collection/fund drive/selling of lotteries/calendars/selling of concert tickets etc., by any organization(s) which reflected the name Gorkha/Nepali within the jurisdiction of apex body.

Keeping in view of the financial misappropriation of the state govt. /central govt. financial assistance by some organization(s), the apex body resolved that, any organization(s) which reflected the name Gorkha/Nepali within the jurisdiction of the apex body (DGU) seeking/applying for financial assistance from the state govt. /central govt., must obtain no objection certificate from the apex body.

As per complaints received by Dimapur Gorkha Union from Gorkha public/members of some Gorkha organization for misusing the fund collected in the name of various programmes/shows/concerts/sportsmeets etc., Dimapur Gorkha Union resolved that, permission/approval must be taken from the apex body for organizing any such programs by any organization(s) which reflects the name Gorkha /Nepali within the jurisdiction of the apex body.
