Government of West Bengal— West Bengal Police is recruiting “Junior Police Constable” (Males and Females) in the Left Wing Extremists affected areas. Candidates with minimum qualification of Class-VIII may apply for the post. Details given below—
Name of the Post: Junior Constable (Men and Women)
No. of Vacancies: 5000 Posts. Reservation of the posts is as per govt. norms and rules
Who can Apply:
- Candidates with minimum qualification of Class VIII from recognised Institute/School may apply for the post.
- Candidate should be permanent resident of the Left Wing Extremist affected areas of the districts of Paschim Medinipur, Bankura and Purulia
Age Limit: Candidates should be within 18yrs to 27yrs as on dated—01/01/2011. Age relaxation for the candidates from the categories of SC/ST- 5yrs and OBC-3yrs.
Physical Measurement of the Candidates: Male Candidates (Gen, SC,OBC)—167 cm (160 cm for ST categories); Chest (unexpanded/expanded)—76cm/81cm (74cm/79cm for ST)
Height for Female candidates (Gen, SC, OBC)—160cm (152cm for ST Female categories)
Selection Steps: For selection of candidates; first there will be physical measurement and Physical Efficiency Test (PET). PET will be of—Run of 800 meter in case of Male candidates and run of 400 meter in case of Female candidates.
Candidates selected from PET will be called for Written Test of 25 marks—15 marks for Mathematics (Class VIII level) and 15 marks for Vernacular.
After Written test, successful candidates will be called for Interview for testing the General Awareness of the candidates. Finally selected candidates will have to go through Medical Examination.
How to Apply: Candidates will have to submit Application Form for the post. Application form is available through local Police Stations and is free of cost. Application form will be given to the candidates only after producing any one of the following documents as proof of domicile in the affected area—Ration Card, Voter Card or SC/ST/OBC certificates bearing domicile address.
Along with filled application, candidates should enclosed the following attested documents—
- Educational Certificate
- Caste Certificate
- 2nos. passport size photograph (4.5cm x 3.5cm); one pasted on application form and other enclosed with the form after writing application form No. on the back of it
- Domicile proof- such as Voter Card, Ration Card or SC/ST/OBC certificates bearing domicile address or Resident Certificate issued by SDO or BDO
- Birth Certificate or school certificate where date of birth is mentioned for Age proof
On the envelope containing the application form super scribe—“APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF JUNIOR POLICE CONSTABLE (MALE/ FEMALE)”.
