Darjeeling, Oct 24 (PTI) West Bengal irrigation minister Manas Bhunia today visited the Darjeeling Sadar Hospital where some those injured in the Bijonbari bridge collapse were admitted. Bhunia, accompanied by Darjeeling District Congress president Sankar Malakar and other party officials, stayed in the hospital for an hour and talked to 35 injured persons. Meanwhile, the death toll in the bridge collapse remained at 34, CMOH Subir Bhowmik said. The reconstruction of the bridge would begin after Diwali with Rs 50 lakh provided by Darjeeling MP Jaswant Singh from his MPLAD funds, official sources said. PTI CORR MD
