Amway Opportunity Foundation (AOF) celebrated Children’s Day in Kohima

Kohima | November 27: Reiterating its commitment towards the inclusive growth of children, Amway Opportunity Foundation (AOF) has celebrated Children’s Day in Kohima with the children of Kohima Orphanage & Destitute Home in true spirit of fun and frolic. Commemorating the birth anniversary of Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru, Amway Opportunity Foundation has been celebrating the day across the country with underprivileged children to bring cheer to their lives.
AOF partnered with different orphanages and NGOs in locations like Kolkata, Asansol, Siliguri, Guwahati, Shillong, Imphal, Aizawl,Silchar, Bhubaneswar, Patna and Ranchi in Eastern India.
At a formal function, Amway Opportunity Foundation volunteers distributed comic books to the children of Kohima Orphanage & Destitute Home. Children also presented a musical soiree on the occasion. all children enjoyed the day with mouth watering delicacies. Volunteers from AOF and Amway Distributors from Ranchi also were present.
On the occasion, AOF conducted a free health check up camp for the children of Kohima Orphanage. A team of two Medical Practitioners including Dr. Joyce Angami have come forward to conduct general health check up of the children through out the day at Kohima Orphanage & Destitute Home. The medical practitioners, who volunteered, are also distributors of Amway India.
Over 70 children of Kohima Orphanage have been checked at the free health check up camp organized by Amway Opportunity Foundation. The health check up camp comprises measurement of Height and body weight of children and Doctor’s thorough check up of general health. The children also enjoyed organized by volunteers of Amway Opportunity Foundation.
The Charitable Health check up camp truly embodies collaboration among Amway Business Owner cum Doctors and Amway Opportunity Foundation. Amway Opportunity Foundation and Amway Distributor Doctors have been conducting free health check up camps for underprivileged children across India for the last one year.
“Project Sunrise is supported by Amway’s the Global CSR initiative - One by One, and is extended to over 60 orphanages across the country. This Project is primarily supported by Amway’s 50th year anniversary funds, where AOF will engage partnerships with NGOs to support on-going education, healthcare (with focus on access to safe drinking water) and nutrition,” said Diptarag Bhattacharjee, Vice President - East, Amway, also a volunteer of AOF. Interestingly, Amway considers all its employees and distributors, as AOF volunteers.
Children’s Day is a special day when we celebrate the day with the less privileged children with lot of fun filled activities to commemorate the birth anniversary of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. We hope our effort would bring smile to the little faces of children of Kohima Orphanage & Destitute Home”, commented Diptarag Bhattacharjee, Vice President, East, Amway India Enterprises Pvt Ltd.
