Denzong Boys Sikkim drubbed A.S.C, Bengaluru 2-0 to reach the quarterfinals

Patna, Jan 21 (PTI) Denzong Boys, Sikkim, drubbed A.S.C, Bengaluru 2-0 to reach the quarterfinals of All India Football Tournament for Bihar Cup here at the Moin-ul-haq stadium today. Denzong boys scored a goal apiece in either half of the pre-quarterfinal encounter to send the Bengaluru club packing from the tournament. Michkel Lati blasted a scorcher from about 25 yards into the rival net during the injury time of the first half to enable the Denzong team go one up before Akona Mondi converted a penalty in the 56th minute to seal the fate of the match in favour of the Sikkim club. The A.S.C. Bengaluru also had several scoring opportunities, but its players Ramchandran, Santa and D. Pant let their chances down. In the quarterfinals, the Dendong Boys, Sikkim will take on Punjab Police, Jalandhar on January 24 next. PTI AB KDK RG
