Kalimpong to celebrate Republic day in the main road instead of mela ground this year

Mukesh Sharma.Kalimpong: For the first time in history of kalimpong Republic day celebration will be celebrated in the main road instead of mela ground. .in the morning a sarva dharma prayer will be organised at the Trikone Park followed by the main parade and flag hosting programme along with cultural jhakiyas will be the main centre of attraction in the day’s celebration. In the town hall a photo exhibition will be conducted by focus kalimpong, save the hills and anugalai will be showing their exhibition, blood donation camp will be organised simultaneously by the Red Cross society, rotary club and the health department. HANDS will perform a social drama followed by a children film especially for the children at the town hall. Tug of war competition between the drivers will also be organised in the celebration programme. The old venue mela ground will host an exhibition football match between The A.S.P Eleven Vs. The S.D.O Eleven. Cultural programme has also been included in the days celebration programme.
