Gorkha union Niuland (GUN) appealed for unity amongst Gorkhas residing in Niuland

DIMAPUR, March 7
: Gorkha union Niuland (GUN) has appealed for unity amongst Gorkhas residing in Niuland sub-division.
GUN during a meeting at Niuland on March 3 chaired by Moniram Sundas, attended by village headman from neighbouring villages resolved to maintain peace and friendship between the Gorkha society and safety of the Gorkhas in Niuland and other places as well.

Village headman Vikiye of Viyeto village stressed on maintaining unity amongst the Gorkhas and said if any problems arose, then it should be brought to the notice of the Gorkha union.

Dimapur Gorkha union chairman Kumar Subba expressing concern on the welfare of the Gorkha society stated that though the Gorkha community settled in Nagaland for over 200 years, yet there were not enough feelings of brotherhood among the Gorkhas.

He also said any persons from the Gorkha community who tried to bring disunity would be dealt accordingly by the union.
DB Norkumba also spoke on maintaining mutual understanding and cooperation for a better society.

Jibraj Limbu vice chairman Dimapur Gorkha union said all Gorkhas in Niuland should become members of the Gorkha union.
“It is only then that things can work out in a better manner in the future, cast should not be considered amongst the Gorkhas”, he said.
