KURSEONG, 1 APRIL: Tension is likely at Gaaridhura on 5 April as the GJMM is going to organise its three-day youth meet there where the GNLF is also supposed to observe its foundation day. GNLF leader Nima Lama said: ''We've already taken permission from police for our party foundation day at Gaaridhura. We will definitely observe the foundation day.
On the GJMM’s three-day youth programme, Mr Lama said to disturb our programme and create chaos, they will host their programme at Gaaridhura. As the administration has given permission to GJMM, it is now their look out to maintain law and order at Gaaridhura. We will definitely organise our party foundation day programme on 5 April. GJMM youth wing leader Subash Pradhan said: "Our proposed programme has not been organised to disturb any other meet. Instead to bring awareness among the youths regarding the GTA and the Terai and Dooars areas, we are going to organise the three-day youth programme on 4, 5, and 6 April. Now it is the administration's headache to ensure peace. Mr Pradhan said: “Our meet will be organised at Marionbari Community hall in Gaaridhura, but on 5 April we will also organise a rally in Gaaridhura town.” It is learnt that the GNLF is going to observe its foundation day near Gaaridhura police outpost and the GJMM is going to organise its party programme at Marionbari Community hall at Gaaridhura town. sns
