Dr Harka Bahadur Chettri felicitated for 25 years of teaching service

Kalimpong|Mukesh Sharma: The Kalimpong MLA, Dr Harka Bahadur Chettri was felicitated today for rendering 25 years of teaching services. The Silver jubilee celebrations on completion of 25 years of teaching service also witnessed the felicitation of Vidhya Singh along with the MLA. The programme was held at the conference hall of St George’s School, Pedong.Dr Chettri who by profession is a teacher has been associated with politics and journalism since long. Addressing the gathering, Dr Chettri said that the real efficiency and capability of a teacher is known on what basis the teacher is remembered by the students the fellow teachers after his/ her retirement. “Though being a MLA, I am fortunate to still be a part of the St George’s family”, he expressed. Likewise, Vidhya Singh expressed on how she felt in being a student of St George’s before, and later becoming a teacher for 25 years in the same School. Both of the teachers were presented a eulogy letter. The teachers and students of the School congratulated both the teachers and presented them gifts on their completion of 25 years in teaching. Fathers (from Christian Schools), representatives and guests from various Schools were present. The students also put up a cultural show during the programme.
