Himalayan Van Drivers Association holds annual programme

Kalimpong|Mukesh Sharma: The Himalayan Van Drivers Association today held its annual general meeting cum felicitation programme under the Chairmanship of the President of the Association Sunil Khati at the Disha Sahitya Bhawan at the DS Gurung Road. The topper children of the drivers who did extraordinary in the Secondary and the Higher Secondary level namely Roshni Mangrati, Manisha Pradhan and Isha Pradhan were felicitated.The President of the Association, Tshering Bhutia who has been underneath every driver since 1997 was also felicitated. On 7th January 2012 the Kalimpong ASP and the IC who gave away the best driver award to Mahendra Gurung who is also the General Secretary of the Association was also felicitated on the day.Advisor Uday Mangrati addressing the day appealed the drivers not to mix drinking with driving and to be disciplined. A driver has to be a good human person helping others and also the tourists he added. The Chief Guest of the day was Mahendra Gurung. The day also marked with colorful cultural programmes.
