Water supply vehicles not abiding the contract between Traffic Dept, Administration and Water Supply Vehicle Assoc

Kalimpong|Mukesh Sharma: Earlier this year a contract was signed between the Traffic Department, Sub Divisional Administration and the Water Supply Vehicle Association stating that the water supply vehicles that go to fetch water from the water source at Reli Road will be travelling through Mangal Dham
way while going and will return through Reli Road. This contract was made keeping in mind that the public should not face any inconvenience. But recently many complaints were received about the water supply vehicles going against the contract by travelling through Reli Road both while going and coming back.
Under the leadership of the Traffic Police OC, Pravin Gurung, 2 water supply vehicles were apprehended and were fined for not abiding by the contract. Later when the caught vehicles were searched, it was found that the drivers did not even possess any driving license. The Department has directed all the drivers to issue driving license.
