Mamata Banerjee to inaugurate 198th Bhanu Jayanti celebrations

Kalimpong|Mukesh Sharma: The Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will be inaugurating the 198th Bhanu Jayanti celebrations on July 13, 2012 being jointly organized by the Nepali Sahitya Addhyan Samiti and the Information and Cultural Department at the Ramkrishna Rang Manch.

Informing about the same, the Nepali Sahitya Addhyan Samiti, Secretary, BB Sharma said that there has been a change of plans after the CM confirmed that she will be inaugurating the function. Further he notified that on July 13, at 9:30 a.m. the celebrations shall commence by offering garlands to the statue of Bhanu Bhakta situated at Thana Dara, followed by the inaugural function at 2 in the afternoon. After 3 p.m. debate competition will be held along with cultural programmes, Ramayan Path and presentation of Bhai Chandra Smriti Puraskar under the aegis of the Nepali Sahitya Addhyan Samiti. The celebrations shall be continued on July 14 also during which the Ramayan Path Pratiyogita winners will be awarded and Purna Rai Smriti Puraskar will be presented.
