Pokhriabong High School awaits renovations

Pokhriabong High school, the only school at Zone II under 43 no Gorubathan constituency at Manzing village seems to forgotten by the concerned department and the administration. Established in the year 1989, the school has around 300 students comprising of 12-13 villages under the Pokhriabong Gram Panchayat Unit. The school is at a distance of 55-60 kilometers from Kalimpong town.
The school suffers from necessity like that of the schools hall. It has never been renovated and touched after its construction. The roof of the school is not proper and the teachers and students have to face many problems during rainy seasons, the classrooms furnitures too are futile.  The school has altogether 8 teachers informed the Principal of the school Praveen Ghising talking to SIKKIM MAIL. He said that they raised their grievances many times but remained unheard. ‘We have hope in the new administrative set up and believe that they will surely hear us’ said Principal Ghising.
The road leading to the school bears same story. Students coming from far away have to face severe problems due to the wretched road confitions. The Students are not in a mood of giving up, but the administration seems so. Now it is interesting to see, how the GTA plays its role improvising the lives of the students, teachers and that of the school.
