Gorkha Janmukti Vidhyarthi Morcha observes foundation day ‘We are all set, anytime for Gorkhaland’ -Subba

Gorkha Janmukti Vidhyarthi Morcha (GJVM) today observed its fifth foundation day at the Gorkha Ranga Manch Bhawan in Darjeeling. Darjeeling MLA Trilok Kumar Dewan was present as the chief guest of the day who was accompanied by the Darjeeling college principal Dr. Lalita Rai Ahmed, GTA Sabhasad Kajiman Lohagan, Mahendra Pradhan as the guest of honors.           Addressing the gathering, GJVM general secretary Rozer Hang Subba said that the organization has played pivotal role for the cause of separate state Gorkhaland. The present Gorkhaland Territorial Administration (GTA) is a resting place, but the main want has been Gorkhaland he reminded. “We are always organized to stride forward from the resting place if the GJM president Bimal Gurung gives us order” said Subba.Looking back on the GTA he said that through GTA many developments in the Hills have started such as tourism, educational etc which were lacking during the 21 years of long rule by the Gorkha National Liberation Front (GNLF).The establishment of Gorubathan College will add a lot to the Hills, in fact, it will become one of the educational hub in the North Bengal. The college at Kaijaley which was constructed during the GNLF reign is unsuccessful as because of its poor geographical conditions. Now the college is being transferred to Bijanbari by the GJM chief from the remotest place said Subba.Later in the day different forms of dances and songs were presented by the students of various schools and colleges from Darjeeling, Kalimpong and Kurseong.
