Gautam Lama, a journalist and a cartoonist(cheska Column) in Himalaya Darpan and by profession a teacher is undergoing treatment in South India since few months, as both of his kidneys are fail. Financial crisis has hit Lama’s family now due to the medical expenses. Thus, realizing Lama’s and his family’s plight, the journalists of Kalimpong have stepped forward to collect funds for Lama.Journalist Bhuwan Khanal has called on the public, organizations, associations, well wishers and the media for the financial support. The Kalimpong media fraternity, who always comes forward for social causes, will be setting up donation camps at Damber Chowk, CK Chowk and Haat Bazaar from March 02 to March 06, 2013. Those willing to contribute can also deposit their amounts at the offices of the local news channels or newspaper houses or can hand it over to any of the local journalists.
