Swami Vivekanand’s 150th birth anniversary to be celebrated throughout the year

The Bharat Uday, Kalimpong under the guidance of Swami Vivekananda Saddhashakti Samaroha Samiti has decided to organize programmes throughout the year marking the 150th birth anniversary celebrations of Swami Vivekananda.Bharat Uday aims to take forward Swami Vivekananda’s direction of building an empowered society. The office bearers of Bharat Uday and Saddhashakti Samaroha Samiti, informed about the yearlong celebrations during a press meet held today.According to Samir Ghosh, President of Bharat Uday, the role played by Swami Vivekananda towards development and empowerment of the society is incommensurable. It is important to spread his message about society and youth empowerment in every level of the society, said Ghosh and added that this is the reason for celebrating Swami Vivekananda’s birth anniversary for a year.Ambika Prasad, member of Saddhashakti Samaroha Samiti, informed that the programme is divided into 5 dimensions. The programme will be conducted taking the youths below 40 years of age, will focus on females and rural population.
