Shyama Shree Sherpa from Singtam who had recently been adjudged the 1st Runners-up at the beauty pageant held at Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh has returned home with her crown yesterday. Sherpa, who is a pursuing her graduation in Journalism and Mass Communication at Kolkata was among the top ten finalists of the Miss Bharat beauty competition that had participants from different parts of India. She had won the Miss Bharat World 2013 along with another title of Miss Photogenic 2013 at the same event.

Talking to this reporter, Sherpa said I am very happy to represent my state of Sikkim in the competition and I would like to thank the people of Sikkim for my success; I would like to thank every individual who had supported me on social networking site. I would also like to express my gratitude towards Press and Media for their overall support. I would also be grateful towards my parents for their love and support, added Sherpa.
Shyama Shree Sherpa further added, she had been offered to participate at the ‘Glory of Universe’ beauty pageant to be held in Paris next year. Being among the top three winners she has also received a second lead role in a hindi film “Muskil hai rahi pyar ke” under Aman Gandhi Film Production, the organizer of the beauty event.
Passionate about dancing, Sherpa had previously won accolades for the state in different dance competition. In the Miss Bharat 2013 competition, Sherpa had performed a bharatnatyam that was well received by the audiences. A participant of Miss Sikkim 2013, Sherpa also has thanked the Sikkim based beauty pageant for the beauty session and workshop. The event gave her encouragement to do better at Bhopal.
